What exactly does RSVP stand for? Abbreviation of French répondez s'il vous plaît

Synonyms are: reply, acknowledgement, answer & response (All according to Bing)

I have always put RSVP on any invitations I send out. How else will I know if they received the invitation and how many people to expect? I try to come up with a date that gives them plenty of time to check their calendar and decide if they are coming, but I also need to know a little ahead of time to make arrangements. And with technology there are mulitple ways to "RSVP", the usual calling, texting, emailing and of course Facebook.
Still, every time we plan an event, I am reminding/asking "will you be able to come?" It gets very frustrating. Out of 115 invitations I received 43 yes, 17 no. That leaves 55 that did not answer.
So I made an "executive decision", I ordered food for 50 people and if we run out, well then, we run out!

Challenges

Life has gotten in the way of blogging..........again. I am sure it will not be the last time either.

I am not a big fan of roller coasters, I don't like the drastic "ups & downs". I have come to realize you do not have to ride a roller coaster to experience the "ups & downs".
While our kids were growing up I always figured "once they are grown, things will calm down and will not be so hectic".  Not so! There will always be "ups & downs" in any life, so I guess I will just have to learn to "go with the flow" and enjoy the calm, peaceful moments while they last.

I had not been to Niagra Falls before. I had seen pictures, but they did not convey the enormity of the falls or the amount of water that flows over them! It was astounding! I have a video standing near the edge of the falls that I will try to download later.

A Tuesday Tourist Post

Since we haven't been any where for a while, I stopped doing the Tuesday Tourist posts. We spent a couple days on St. Pete Beach, FL, a couple days in Sebring, Fl. & a couple days in Savannah, GA last month so......I have enough for at least a "few" posts!
